Once upon a time, there was a man who looked upon Christmas as a lot of humbug. He wasn’t a scrooge. He was a kind and decent person, generous to his family, upright in all his dealings with other men. But
A while back I was speaking and asked for a show of hands, “How many of the wives have had too much affirmation over the past month?”
Laughter broke out across the room. No, haven’t had too much of that.
As a Christian, I rely on prayer and turn to the Bible for peace, comfort, and – often – to try and make sense of what’s going on in a crazy, mixed up, and downright scary world. This morning I read Romans 12:21 and have been thinking about it since.
I’m a CHRISTian. I won’t bash your beliefs. I won’t protest your lifestyle or choices. I won’t tell you who to vote for. I will love you. I will talk to you about Jesus. I will be bold. I will probably seem weird to the world. I don’t care. I’m living for an audience of One.
Have you ever wondered why the Bible calls John “the disciple whom Jesus loved” repeatedly? I laughed out loud when I discovered why, but if authors tend to repeat what’s important, there must be an important lesson in it.
