To say that man can reason correctly and cogently apart from having the Bible at the foundation of his thinking sets man up as the standard and the judge over what is true and what is not true; he becomes the ultimate epistemological authority and not the Bible.
If we say truth is something that corresponds with reality, then we would learn the most reliable truths from testing, observation and evidence. This is also known as the scientific method.
Beware of the Christian deconvertee and the “enlightened” former Christian who was able to “reason” him/herself out of faith. Their words have no more meaning and they speak with no more authority than anyone else.
