“I’ve tried to be nice. I’ve tried to get them to read. I’ve tried to get them to objectively examine the facts. I’ve tried to get them to see what their indoctrination does to kids…. ” He wrote in a lengthy blog rant. “…but, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!”
Could it be that perpetual self-imposed victimhood is bad for people?
One of the things I hear from non-believers all the time is that Christians indoctrinate their kids.
I would be fine with this if the accusation, as it more often than not does, didn’t include the implication that not only is indoctrination a necessary part of Christianity but that it also an evil act that borders on child abuse
According to the Bible, believers should go to church regularly so that they can:
- Hear God’s Word taught faithfully
- Pray together
- Be accountable to one another
- Encourage one another
Of all the plot formulas in literature, perhaps the most popular and enduring is that of the epic journey. The reader who follows Frodo as he walks to Rivendell or Harry Potter as he hunts down Voldemort’s horcruxes quickly becomes a participant in the journey. Sharing in the adventure and the danger of the road, the reader realizes that he has also, in the process, made a pilgrimage into his own soul.
The more worldly and ungodly American society becomes; the more devout Christians will be criticized and persecuted for their beliefs and actions. One popular criticism that has been levied against Christians in recent years involves the Christian home. Allegedly, Christian parents are guilty of brainwashing their kids.
