The simple answer to this absurd claim is that the historical textual evidence for Jesus is convincing. It is convincing in its earliness and abundance… it is really that simple.
To say that man can reason correctly and cogently apart from having the Bible at the foundation of his thinking sets man up as the standard and the judge over what is true and what is not true; he becomes the ultimate epistemological authority and not the Bible.
If you read the Old Testament with the presupposition that you don’t think the God of Christianity is worthy of worship and/or read it to find ways to shore up your disbelief, it’s easy to make a seemingly coherent appeal that the OT God is simply awful.
Yesterday I was told I was delusional because I am a Young Earth Creationist. Not surprising, it happens all the time. Interesting thing though is that in over 20 years I have never been called delusional because I am YEC by anyone other than evangelical non-believers.

If you are willing to be honest, you’ll find that Christianity is overall more consistent with evidence and logic than any other worldview.
