I pray that we may act like men

This is something that has been on my mind quite a bit lately.

The world we live in is full of problems and, I believe, if men began to stand up and act like men, many of those problems would be solved.

Dear Lord,

Thank you for my life and the call you have on it. Lord, I pray that men would begin to act like men. Our world is actively trying to keep men immature and acting like boys. Our enemy is afraid of mature, godly MEN. Becuase Godly men are dangerous for his kingdom. When we as men begin to act like men, true Godly men, the kingdom of the devil will be rocked.

Lord, make us pursuers of righteousness, protectors of the innocent, lovers of our wives, servants, prayer warriors and bible believers. Lord, may we act like the men that you have called us to be.

In Jesus name amen!

  1. That’s some truth right there, James. Of course, standing on something will sometimes leave you an outcast and alone. Sometimes you lose friends or a church. Or become the subject of talk all over the place. I tell you that trying to be a Biblical man is not for the faint of heart. I have gone to the beginning of Joshua a lot over that last few months, when God tells him over and over to be strong and of good courage. It’s been a help as if He were writing that to me. Joshua made his priority clear in Joshua 25:15, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

    • Glad you brought up Joshua, Wally. Standing firm for biblical truth does take courage and quite a bit of it.

      • I love Joshua. He is a real hero of faith, and that is where I go when I feel my resolve wavering. I am in my easy chair, and if I turn to my right I see that verse; if I turn to my left I see it also. Literally I cannot walk through my house and not be reminded. Our stand has to be intentional, and because we are by nature weak, God’s Word has to be our go to thing. Otherwise, we will fail.

        • Yes, if God’s Word is not our go to thing, we will fail. However, some stray from God’s Word and what they get out of that; friends, fame, money, acceptance…looks like success to them. I’m sure RHE thought she was wildly successful and, by the world’s standards, she was.

  2. Amen. I was raised in the 50s with Godly men, and yearn for that again, also. 🙂

Lord, give us the strength and vision to be men in Your image.
