Yes, today’s post marks the last of the For a single Purpose series. It was wonderful being a guest on this blog and I appreciate the comments. The following character who is one of my favorite is Rahab the Harlot; she can be found in the book of Joshua 2.
Right. Rahab III. (2013). 28″ by 36″ . Collage on plyboard. Thru His vessel JB. For a Single Purpose series.
In the book of Joshua, we find Joshua, who is the next leader of Israel to get the Isrealities into the Promise Land. Joshua have sent spies over the land and they have met Rahab, a local prostitute. When Rahab heard where the spies originated, the children of Israel, she agreed to hide the spies as the authorities sought them. She knew of the powerful God they served and wanted to be a part of it. After they were protected by Rahab’s deed, they agreed to protect herself and her family. As a result, she can be found in the lineage of Jesus Christ. Despite her past, she had favor because she put her faith in the true living God.
As singles in Christ, we should remember that as a part of the family, that God always have His favorites, all of us. And because of his overwhelming love for all of us yet so individualistic, we should know favor will always come our way , because we trust and believe in Him. Like Rahab, we all have a dirty past, but that does not mean our past will try to stop us. It is definitely through faith, we inherit the promises and it is shown in the story of Rahab.
No matter if you are single or married, have children or not, it is important to exercise the faith we have in God and realizing that we are His children, that we instantly have favor. Sometimes it appears as if we as the children of God, act like constant vagabonds and forgetting that we are in the kingdom of God, so favor is always with us. However, in this downtrodden world of Satan’s system, it may not feel like it. Just remember the story of Rahab and know that if God has favor over her and she was not yet a part of Israel, He will definitely have favor for you, as His child.
I hope this has been a blessing. I love you all. Thank you for reading and taking part of this series.
