Neil Armstrong showed great courage by placing his life in unknown peril when his boots were imprinted on the moon’s surface. He is one of America’s heroes. When Patrick Henry uttered the words, “Give me liberty or give me death” he was courageously standing for freedom of oppression and expressing the thoughts of most Americans.
When I was a young woman, I sat in front of the television and watched in awe as Neil Armstrong planted the American flag on a surface which had never felt the touch of human life. I wondered if I would have had the courage to do something like that. It’s reassuring to know that there are still men and women who aren’t afraid to take a small step into uncharted territory for the benefit of their fellow man.
We are blessed in America to have police officers, firemen and women, soldiers and so many others that risk their lives every day to protect us. I thank them for their courage and thank God for their ability to serve.
New horizons are still ahead of us as we approach another election. The decisions we make and the outcome will affect our nation greatly in the future. Now is our time to be courageous and vote for the one who can lead us through those times – surround themselves with honest, competent and upright people. We need a change. We need to take a chance and we need to honor our privilege to vote, by doing so.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!
