For a Single Purpose (9) Joseph-Faith and patience

Hello people,

I hope all is well with everyone. Yes, it has been a while since I’ve written anything on this blog, but it is through faith and patience, we will inherit the promise. The person that we feature this particular trait is the story of Joseph in chapters Genesis 37-45, in where he was noted as single during this time.

Above entitled Joseph III. (2013). Thru His vessel JB. For A Single Purpose series. 2.

Joseph was a young man who dreamed big. At the age of seventeen, he had a dream that he was going to be a leader one day and even his brothers would be under his reign. Of course, they became jealous and decided to place his brothers in a pit, so they may never hear of Joseph and his dreams again. But God was always with Joseph.

When Joseph was sold to the Ismaelites, God was there with him. When Joseph was wrongfully accused even though it meant prison because he honored God, He was there with him. God continues to be faithful, even we are not A lot of times as a single, we become unfaithful because we get discouraged about the time we are going to marry or when it feels that things are not going to happen as we expect. As a single, I realize, God honors our faith, but it also takes patience to inherit the promise (Hebrews 6:12).

Think of it like a seed. You get a seed to plant, perhaps it’s your favorite fruit or vegetable and you plant the seed in good fertile dirt. You know that the seed needs not just dirt but steady water and sunlight over a period of time to grow. Your promise is that seed, but the water is your faith. Through time, you will get a beautiful tree of your favorite fruit, just because you were active on your faith. It took time, which means patience. Not everything happens overnight and just because you used your faith the first time for that one thing, does not mean it would apply for everything you ask God for. Somethings just take longer than others.

Like Joseph, he used his time wisely and that is seeking God. As he seek God, he actively used his faith for a period time, which flourished into him becoming a leader as promised in his visions.

Continue to seek God, follow His will and will give you the desires of your heart in due time.

Love you all,

For the love of God and Art

Thru His vessel JB
