“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.” Romans 12:12-13

Sometimes we’re given instructions in God’s Word that seem pretty hard to handle. It might be fairly easy to be joyful in hope when things are going good, but tough to be patient when faced with something that effects us physically.

Sharing with those who need our help is definitely not easy when you’re struggling yourself. Hospitality means being kind and welcoming to friends as well as strangers. This should be easy to do with those we know and love,, but to do this for strangers – not so much.

Today would be a good day to start thinking about some of these things and put them into practice. If you know someone who could use your kindness, your patience and your joy, share it with them. Above all be faithful in prayer, not only for your own needs, but for the needs of others.
