Don’t forget to breathe

Getting in shape involves more than just exercise and watching what you eat.

So, next time you hit the street, track, or trail for a run, you might want to think about how your breathing might be affecting your performance.

      In all seriousness, I have started adding fitness posts on Friday to help motivate and encourage readers to get in shape.

      Fitness is one of my passions, it makes the blog more interesting, and it’s a far better topic than politics.

        Oh absolutely, I will… I promise.
        [I was actually doing the deep breathing while reading… very noticeable difference in just that small technique.]
        actually look fit, but know I need to do more… so yeah, thanks for the encouragement… and now that I know it will be every Friday, I’ll be putting in more effort on my end…
        See… motivated already… because I must keep my word…

  3. Breathing is important but I have found that trying to breathe as normally as possible when running is better and easier than trying to match breathing to a running pace. When the pace speeds up, the breaths become too shallow.

    Also important to breath in through the nose and out through the mouth.

  5. Proper breathing is so important when exerting energy. In fact it’s important all the time but I do notice when I’m struggling during a workout that I’m actually holding my breath. Not good but helpful to be aware of. Thanks for this.

  6. Thanks for this; I just realize I also hold my breath a lot when I’m writing a blog post that is heavy on refutation.
