The Treasure of Friendship

93094-o

The treasure of friendship cannot be measured or weighed in silver or gold …

The treasure of friendship cannot be found to be wanting or lacking when being weighed in the balance …

The treasure of friendship is not found in a handshake with a pat on the back; nor is it found in a wave and a smile, or even a hug.  however, the treasure of friendship can be measured by what is truly evident in the heart …

Although the treasure of friendship cannot be found in works lest any should boast, the treasure of friendship can be demonstrated when reaching out to a friend in need with true motives of the heart through words and deeds …

For example: the breaking of bread with another person is an outward demonstration between two parties sending a message that they want to be friends no matter what happens or doesn’t happen, good or bad, they still will remain friends …

For instance: Jesus knew that Judas was about to betray him, but he still reached out His hand in friendship knowing full well of the events that were to follow … (see Mark 14:18, 20)

Satan could find nothing in Jesus, and Judas was forgiven before he left the room … there was no conflict between the two …

So bread therefore is a symbolism of both  friendship and peace … Jesus is the prince of peace … and jesus is the true bread of heaven (see John 15:12-15)

Proverbs 18:24 tells us if we want to have friends then we must show ourselves to be friendly …

For example: take the Amish and the their ‘friendship’ bread methodology: … through following instructions, the starter would have multiplied three more times …

Take those three starters and bless someone with it along with the recipe and a sample of the bread … so bread, indeed, is a true treasure that was sent from heaven to earth … feed the hungry and they will then be ready to listen … remember the manna that fell from heaven …

An acquaintance will shake your hand, give you a pat on the back or even a little hug, but they will keep on trotting, but Jesus calls us his friend and will never forsake or abandon us (see John 6:32-35 and Hebrews 13:5)

We have the treasure of friendship living within us, and we need to share this treasure with others, and unless we become like a little child, the true nature of the treasure of heaven will remain hidden within … (See 2 Corinthians 4:7 and Mark 10:15)

As a reminder, let us remember that since Christ demonstrated the true treasure of friendship by loving us regardless of our faults when he embraced Hiss cross …

As members of the Body of Christ, let us  embrace one another with the love of Christ who lives within each and every one of us … and regardless of who they are or where they come from, embrace them with the treasure of friendship every day of the year …
