This Blogger Stands With Kim Davis

imagesDear Friends,

As for me and my house we will serve the Lord in Spirit and in Truth, and what God has deemed unlawful in His courts I will follow.

Like Kim, we will all one day have to give an account before God on every action and decision we have made. I am not interested in anyone who want to point out her faults because I have too many of my own.

I believe for every finger we point at someone else, those very same fingers will turn around and point right back us. We have all missed the mark and not one of us have arrived back home yet!

Yes, we are to obey the laws of the land, but when those laws go against the moral laws of God, then this is the time we should say a resounding “No!” to that law which contradicts the courts of our God.

Our God is the Sovereign Supreme Judge and those judges who dare to defy the moral codes as God has mandated in His courts will themselves be judged accordingly by God for their decision unless they repent.

The following Scriptures are taken from the: “Holman Christian Standard Bible” which tells us that we are to:

Fear God (Luke 12:4-5, and 8-12)

“And I say to you, My friends, don’t fear those who kill the body, and after that can do nothing more. But I will show you the One to fear: Fear Him who has authority to throw people into hell after death. Yes, I say to you, this is the One to fear!

Acknowledge Christ

“And I say to you, anyone who acknowledges Me before men, the Son of Man will also acknowledge him before the angels of God, but whoever denies Me before men will be denied before the angels of God.10 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but the one who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. 11 Whenever they bring you before synagogues and rulers and authorities, don’t worry about how you should defend yourselves or what you should say. 12 For the Holy Spirit will teach you at that very hour what must be said.”

To be a friend of this world means that you are God’s enemy and the love of the Father is not in you:

4 Adulteresses! Don’t you know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? So whoever wants to be the world’s friend becomes God’s enemy” (James 4:4).

15 Do not love the world or the things that belong to[c] the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him. 16 For everything that belongs to[d] the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride in one’s lifestyle—is not from the Father, but is from the world. 17 And the world with its lust is passing away, but the one who does God’s will remains forever (1 John 2:15-17).

Remember my friends, if we too would measure ourselves according to the Word regarding judgments we would find that although Christ did say that with what measure we judge, we will be judged according to that measure. but also remember that Christ also said that we are to make righteous judgments (See Matthew 7:1-5 and John 7:24).

One day your turn will come, will you stand your ground, I know I will. God bless you 🙂

Either we are for God and His ways or we are not and like Kim, we too, one day will have to make a bold stand for God, I pray we will all be ready to do the same.

  2. Amazing to see how deep all the propaganda has now penetrated the majority, to the degree that most people actually agree with the Judge’s actions here, as though this woman was really guilty of a crime… Even if you didn’t agree with her stance on gay marriage etc., isn’t it INSANE that people would really think that she should be in jail, rather than just say, losing her job? Absolute insanity, and a true portent of what I think is coming over the horizon for everyone who does not bow the kneel to Baal and go along with the upside-down morality of the day….

  3. This story has really reminded me of the recent talk about Gretta Vosper (an atheist who is a minister in the United Church of Canada). Most Christian circles have repeatedly called for her to resign her position since it is felt that she ‘obviously’ can no longer serve that position. I find it ironic that many of these same Christians are now defending Kim Davis’ right to stay in her position even if she refuses to serve in every capacity required.

I will defend Davis’ right to her opinions, but if the job requires her to do something that conflicts with her beliefs, then she needs to find another job. It seems quite simple.

    • I will that between God and You, but as for me I choose to obey what God has to say about this … He is Sovereign … as for the Gretta Vosper case, an atheist cannot serve in the courts of my God … have a good weekend …

      • Likewise I respect your right to your beliefs and to support whomever you choose. However, I still think that any support of the her as an individual does not mean she is still qualified for the job if she refuses to carry it out. My job requirements change all the time; If I don’t like any one of them, I can leave at any time.

  4. Pauline, I TOTALLY agree with you, but this case is also way bigger than just religious freedom. Check out my blog on why she has done nothing wrong legally: https://gracesalt.wordpress.com/2015/09/04/kim-davis-jailed-for-breaking-no-laws/

  8. I will say that she has every right to stand up for her Christian beliefs. Her and her lawyer have both made it very clear that they both believe that homosexual marriage licenses should not even be considered valid licenses since they consider that type of union to be invalid. I wholeheartedly agree with that opinion. I also do not believe that she should be jailed over something such as this. However, I do not believe that she should be fighting to keep her secular job of working for the state and press her opinions on a job that does require her to distribute same sex marriage licenses, no matter how wrong it may be. It is unfortunately the law of the land, and positions such as county clerks must respect that law. I personally believe that she should have made her position very clear and then, when push came to shove, stepped down from her position as clerk. This nation is not a Christian nation and our laws are not Christian laws, no matter how badly we want them to be. This is the world that we live in. All we can do is follow the laws of Christ and pray that He will lead us in paths of righteousness.

  9. I read an article today in the Wall Street Journal that made a lot of sense to me. While legally Ms. Davis probably should step down cannot common sense and decency prevail? Must she have been hauled off to jail instead of just simply accommodated for at her job? Have we really swung the pendulum of intolerance so far in the other direction that those against gay marriage must not only have to live with it but participate in various aspects of the process?

She did get released today, I’m not sure of the details behind that,

    • Hi Tricia, thank you for this information, and I agree with what they are saying in one instance … although the word tells us to obey the laws of the land … the laws of the land do not supercede the conscience of one’s belief … When John and Peter were arrested again for preaching Christ, their response in Acts 5:29 was that “we are to obey God rather than man …” and since God calls same sex an abomination (which all sin is), then our stance is to obey God … I believe the judge told her that she is not to refuse gays a marriage license, but all they have to do is to remove her name from off the marriage license and not allow her to issue any more … bear in mind too that there have been Christian bakers and those who arrange wedding receptions as a business also have had to close up shop … Christians are definitely being targeted for their faith for sure … now reports are coming out about judges who will not marry hetrosexuals … but God’s justice will prevail … let’s pray for strength and boldness to stand our ground in the days that are ahead … God bless you abundantly 🙂

      • Hey Pauline, yeah I agree Christians must, or should any way, follow their conscience when it comes to obeying God’s laws over man’s. For me it’s difficult to ascertain whether just having her name on the marriage license really means she’s going against God. That is between her and the Big Man himself. Regardless, all the outrage against her, and certainly her jailing when it would have been so easy to accommodate her beliefs means something else entirely in that she is indeed being targeted and made an example of what will happen to other Christians who may be encouraged by her. It’s appalling really as is the legal persecution of Christian bakers, photographers, etc…

        Good post there. 🙂
